The Friends of the Ruidosa Church is working with a team of preservation specialists to develop a plan for the church's restoration in accordance with the Secretary of Interior’s standards for historic preservation.
During the first phase, a structural engineer will examine the church and make recommendations to stabilize any portions of the structure that are in danger of collapse in order to create a safe working environment.
In consultation with archeologists, historians, historic architects, and other design specialists, a historic structure report will be produced to provide documentary, graphic, and physical data about the structure and its history. The report will be a critical part of a thoughtfully considered approach to the most appropriate treatment for the structure's intended use and serve as a guide for its phased restoration.
