Fared Shafinury Live at the USO 11/9/23 (POSTPONED)

October 30: Due to a family emergency, this event has been postponed. 

Join us at the USO building in Marfa on Thursday, November 11, 7PM for a special performance by Persian sitar player Fared Shafinury and tonbak drummer Rambod Dargahi in support of ongoing restoration work at the Ruidosa Church.  

The performance is free, but there will be a suggested donation to support the non-profit. Complimentary wine will be served.

Fared Shafinury is a widely celebrated & critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, composer, Persian setār virtuoso, and performing artist. Born on the Gulf of Mexico, Shafinury's hyphenated cultural identity has propelled his music to the forefront of authenticity in bridging the musical gap between West and East.

Shafinury has a connection to Ruidosa, having composed two albums in the neighboring village of Candelaria, 10 miles to the west.
